Geodata Conferencing
The development team aimed to provide the following functionality for
the geodata conference system:
- Success to and fusion of geospatial information from multiple sources;
- User control over displayed layers;
- A synchronized viewer;
- Georeferenced pointers;
- Georeferenced, editable annotations;
- Text messages;
- Session persistence; and
- Templates for rapid set-up.
The Solutions
The geodata conference system is built on the following principles:
- Three server components: a conferencing server, a data router and
a data provider;
- Only images (rendered information) travel beyond the data provider;
- Components communicate using TCP/IP, and can be distributed; and
- Sessions are saved as XML (map background metadata, annotations and
log).
