How do I create a SLD?

To create a styled layer descriptor, follow these 4 steps:

1. Read the Styled Layer Descriptor Implementation Specification at: http://www.opengeospatial.org/docs/02-070.pdf.
   
   An overview of this specification is available on the GeoConnections website at:
   http://www.geoconnections.org/en/communities/developers/
   standards/fa=technical.styled_layer_descriptor
   
   
2. Select an OGC-compliant web map server that supports styled layer descriptors.
   
   
3. Create a styled layer descriptor document for the layer you wish to style.
