Collaboration

The project is supported by the GeoInnovations program of GeoConnections, Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). GeoConnections is a national partnership program, led by NRCan,  that is building the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) to harmonize Canada's geospatial databases (topographic maps, air photos, satellite images, nautical and aeronautical charts, census and electoral areas, forestry, soil, marine and biodiversity inventories) and to make them accessible on the internet by developing technology, standards, access systems and protocols. The project is built based on collaboration between two government agencies, namely, DRDC Valcartier and Earth Science Sector of NRCan. GeoTango has kept close collaboration and partnerships with both industry and government.
