As part of the renewed program, GeoConnections is engaging and partnering with stakeholders in the Geomatics community. The outreach and engagement strategy started at the Canadian Geomatics Conference (CGC) in Calgary, Alberta in June 2010. NRCan participated by exhibiting at a renewed booth, presenting technical and strategic policy papers, serving at association committee meetings, and providing keynote speakers at the opening plenary and closing session.
As an extension of the CGC, NRCan hosted a community of practice event on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Over 40 members of the geomatics community attended to discuss partnerships, alignment and future direction.
