A Service Registry Service provides a mechanism to:

  1. Register the existence of specific types of services (in a Service Type Registry,) and register information about specific events (in a Service Registry);
  2. Search Service Registries; and
  3. retrieve detailed information (metadata) that describes a service, in order to evaluate its suitability to meet a need.
