Partners play a vital role

GeoConnections is built on strong partnerships.

Some of our partners supply location-based data to the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI), some develop innovative solutions and services, others help fund or administer projects, and still others use the outputs that GeoConnections' co-funded projects generate.

These partners include companies and private-sector associations… government agencies… non-government organizations… Aboriginal communities… and academic institutions. Collectively, they anchor the CGDI, often working directly not only with us, but also with one another.

This interaction produces a whole greater than the sum of its parts—for instance, an innovation in one area or discipline can easily spark an advance somewhere else, perhaps leading to a new application or service. In fact, this cross-pollination of ideas may be the greatest benefit resulting from GeoConnections' emphasis on partnerships.
